Medium brown-skinned woman with dark hair smiling and holding a demonstration breast. Shirt says "Pump, Latch, Express, Decolonize"

Aanii! Hello! My name is Elizabeth Montez, my pronouns are she/her/kwe.

I am a Beaver clan citizen of Waganakising Odawa (Little Traverse Bay Bands Odawa) and Forest County Potawatomi descendant, and I am also a descendant of Mexican and German immigrants and settlers of Appalachia. My heart is full to now live on my ancestral homeland in Waganakising, and can provide in-person lactation care throughout Northern Michigan.

My quick summary of credentials include:

  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)

  • Oral Habilitation Masterclass-trained

  • Indigenous Lactation Counselor (ILC)

  • Zaagi'idiwin Full Spectrum Indigenous Doula

  • Postpartum Healing Lodge-trained Postpartum Doula

  • MotherWoman group facilitator

The site is under construction but just like my doodem, I am a busy little amik behind the scenes! I am available for direct lactation care in person in Northern Michigan or via telehealth anywhere that we can make our time zones work. I love speaking at conferences, particularly about relationship-based lactation care and decolonizing clinical practices. Hit the button or shoot me an email elizabeth@flowermoonfamilies.com
